weekend (plus one) break.

Still on break from studying although I really should get started soon. Weather was good all afternoon, so it was a stop at town to de-stress. It was perfectly justifiable.

I know the standard practice is to reward yourself AFTER the exams but uh..

Two DVDs I've been wanting to get for the longest time, namely
Love Story (1970)
starring Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal (the only love story of this nature that I'll tolerate) and Howl's Moving Castle (2005).

Howl's was released quite some time ago and received rave reviews. From the same person who directed Spirited Away which was a remarkable animated feature, with 97% rating on RottenTomatoes. I watched 80% of that movie and slept for the other 20, not because it wasn't good but the TV room at home is extra conducive to naps. I was watching 'There Will Be Blood' and slept after the first 12 minutes. Gotta throw those extra cushions. But back to Spirited Away, it was impressive, and highly interesting and enjoyable. I didn't have much expectation for it and thought it was one of those cartoons you watch because there was nothing better to do, clearly a poor judgment in retrospect.

I'll watch them after the exams, self-discipline permitting.
