youth in revolt.

:(

According to a survey, people are more inclined to decsribe themselves as being depressed even when what they're feeling is just (plain) sadness. You never hear people going around saying "I am sad", its always "I'm utterly and completely depressed." I wonder why that is. We're realizing more and more how ephemeral happiness is, and how elusive it can get, and we get saddened by the thought of it. Even when I'm happy I'm sad because I know I'll lose it, that feeling, in the blink of an eye. Does this mean I'm perpetually sad? I really don't know.

On a lighter, more positive note;
-I bought two books which I've been wanting to get for some time now. One is Jonathan Safran Foer's 'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close' and the other, Sara Gruen's 'Water For Elephants.' I've only read a few pages of S. Foer's and its incredibly hilarious and so cleverly written. He's one of the most engaging writers I've ever come across.

-Speaking of engaging, I can't stress enough how beautiful Cormac McCarthy's The Road is. I know I've mentioned in the previous post but the book is extremely good. But don't take my word for it.

-What I was Reallly looking for though was C.D. Payne's 'Youth in Revolt'. Apparently the book is really really good and is madly funny. None of the bookstores I went kept it in stock though, the book was written quite a long time ago so I had to order one copy. It'll arrive in 2 weeks or so, which is ok. The lady says the book is worth the wait, and I for one believe her.

Its Tuesday, and by a stroke of luck/miracle, classes today end at 12pm. As in one hour after 11am and two hours before 2pm. That's never happened before. I'm confused at what I'm supposed to do with all this free time. Sleep or TV? Or both. At the same time? Studying is not an option.

"I've got joyous news."

Superbad IS showing here, and so is Deathproof. Now to find someone who's interested in watching two highschool boys attempt to score beer and get laid and/or extreme violence. See, the movies are really good but when I try to explain to others what they're about, they go from 'considering it' to being 'completely turned off by the idea of watching it.' Need some help here.

Can't wait for Juno :))))) The trailer looks promising.
