jump little children-close your eyes.
saturday: I was either sleeping or watching the 12th Fina championships. Something so fixating about the way they swam. Or, frankly, I just had nothing better to do. (I'd root for Phelps everytime, just to be on the winning side. the commentator got pretty fucking annoying at times-"ooh, the others are way behind! This is now a race between Australia and the clock!". jeez.)
sunday: watched Hot Fuzz at Melbourne Central. just getting to the city was actually an achievement, we're extra extra lazy, especially in the weekends, its always easier to go 'no, lets sleep and watch Fina afterwards.' but, yea, it was worth the time, highly entertaining. its the sort of humour thats not American. Ha. (which is a good thing.) the only downside to it was the way the actors would sometimes mumble their lines and it gets hard to understand what they're trying to say. for me anyway, it might be the accent. Martin Freeman is dead funny, although the way he acted in this movie resembled too closely to Ricky Gervais's acting. the way he'd execute the jokes I would think he was this Gervais protege that almost mirrors him but doesn't quite reach it. don't know if thats a good thing. the movie reminded me of Keeping Mum a bit, the way the characters were murdered for silly reasons. but Hot Fuzz is of course much better. oh, that was a spoiler btw.
I'm trying to find time to watch 'The Lives of Others'. It has through the roof ratings, and the storyline sounds promising. one of these days probably.
