pretension

seeing as how i've only started when others are in their 3rd-year-run, we will pretend i've done this for quite some time now.

to get things out of the way, i'll just paste this below.
Kraken:an enormous mythical sea monster said to appear off the coast of Norway.
what was meant to be a made up word actually had a place in the dictionary so we will stick to it. relates closely to architeuthis dux, or in fact, it is suppose to implicitly mean the creature (a. dux) itself. i'm tempted to just use this entire space to write about it but it takes up alot of time and facts, both of which i don't have. i basically know the name and its general shape, so...

1) In an attempt to appear well-informed about Western Civilisation and English vocabulary in general, I went on and embellished my HOI essay with words like 'virility', 'suffragettes', knowing only to a limited extent what they really mean, especially with the former, in hopes that Frazer will look pass my 'lame' (as he calls it) judgments and flat-out unoriginal opinions and be impressed by the myriad of words and different sentence structures. (it was wishful thinking, but i was at a dead-end at that time). so, wrote the essay with more than 7 words used in the wrong context, with a pinch of collusion and two motherload buckets of plagiarism. then, just when i thought it was all over and done with, i come across that 'cur-sed' word i never thought i'd see again. An article in the newspaper with the mention of the word-- Virility. Even before i read the entire article, just by looking at the headline i instinctively knew i was in trouble (not trouble, more like eternal embarassment). Can't remember what the title of the article was (the word was used in the title btw) but the entire thing mainly mentioned things like Viagra pills and erections? First thing that come to my mind--'Fuck, fuck, shit, piss', no read the thing again, virility, erections, viagra, sex pills, fuuuck, fuck, fuck shit.' (to which the volume of the profanity started ascending as i kept muttering, rendering them slightly, if not entirely, audible to people sitting a metre away.) First of all, it wasn't entirely my fault as the sources provided influenced me in such a huge way that when they started to use terms like 'aggressive virility', i was tempted to follow suit, casually slipping it in in those paragraphs that needed some 'beefing up' of good vocabulary. Second, i don't know which dictionary that told me it just meant 'masculinity' and didn't mention anything else. (or so i say to keep my defense clean) until now, i'm still unsure about the true meaning of that word, and how it's meant to be used in a context. MRGHH, just hoping it'll be overlooked or simply dismissed as a simple mistake of an ignorant student.
