Dec 2008
My exams aren't over and I still have time to do this. Yikes.
2008 is coming to an end (already!), completely whizzed by. I don't remember much, there were birthday parties, Fairlands barbecue, Paris, Men's Basketball Olympics, Ramly burger, teh o' ais, the lousiest basketball shoots at Alia's farewell, the best gatherings with friends, the day I ate so many cakes, malaysian bazaar, Galway Games (which I think we should have more of), and poker nights. Could I also include Total Collapse of the US Economy.
I'll end the year with a list, which has nothing to do with anything.
My 4 obsessive compulsions, or OCs ("Don't call it that". AD anyone?)
1. I never drink any water in a bottle til the last drop. I have to leave around 5-10ml remaining and throw that away. I get this impression that there are microorganisms and foreign particles precipitating at the bottom. My sister thinks its ridiculous, I sort of agree.
2. I have to wear a watch all the time except when in the shower. I wear it to sleep, so I have a day watch and a night watch. You'll never see me without one, I get uneasy and irritable without it. Its been like that since I was 11 probably. Consequently, I obsess about watches all the time, I get weak in the knees walking into a watch shop or browsing them on websites.
3. If I'm walking on a surface with tiles I'll try to keep my feet in the boxes and not step on the line resulting in this weird gait. I don't do it too often and I don't get obsessive over it. Its just something to do.
4. I have severe packing anxiety. My stomach gets funny everytime I'm about to pack, I need for the bag to be as light as air if not lighter. The packing itself is fine, but deciding what goes in it takes forever. The amount of stress that goes into it is nonsensical. I stress about handphone chargers, hairdryers, books, the amount of clothes. At the check-in counter at the airport, just before they weigh the bag, I'll get incredibly nervous, with rapid heartbeats and sweaty hands.
There's this one Mr. Bean episode where he has to pack all these things for his holiday but his bag is only ye' big so he goes on and cuts his pants into shorts, empties the toothpaste tube so its near empty, agonizes over which Hawaiian shirt to bring. So apparently, out of all the people in the world, I relate most to him.
