Sports Carnival 08.

I get excited just looking at the December '08 calendar. Nothing particular planned but just the thought of being home. I miss laughing senseless with family and friends, they're funny beyond words.

Malaysian Society hosted its first ever Sports Carnival this weekend. The fact that a lot of people came down and that there were hardly any glitches throughout the 6-hr event is a Huge Deal. Alhamdulillah. I'll use this space to thank everyone involved and give credit to Izzul and Amin as Auditor and Event Organizer respectively for being so tireless and tenacious in planning the entire thing and fine-tuning every single detail. I can't imagine the amount of stress that came with the job but I hope that with the event being a success it was worth all the effort. I especially commend everyone for giving everything they had and not simply doing a mediocre job. All the planning was not just talk, and what a rare thing that is nowadays.

Games include pool, chess, badminton, volleyball, futsal for both boys and girls and takraw for boys. Entire Malaysian community divided into Houses, either Red, Blue, Yellow or Green. My proposal of having them as Gryffindor, Ravenclaw etc. was firmly rejected. Will try to be more creative at next meeting.

haha, the house names were supposed to be Irish words but I think that was changed. Next year maybe, we'll do: aras ui cathail, aras na macleinn, aras moyola and an bhialann (restaurant).
