Raya and the US bailout.

"Telah datang bulan Ramadhan yang penuh berkat kepadamu...Pada bulan itu Allah (s.w.t.) melihat perlumbaan dalam mengerjakan ibadah dan membangga-banggakan kamu dihadapan para malaikat. Oleh kerana itu, tunjukkanlah kepada-Nya kebaikan-kebaikan dirimu. (Riwayat al-Nasai)

The idea that humans could ever be worthy of such a thing is astounding. I'm almost moved to tears seeing people doing unrelenting charity work. This is overdue, but anyway, selamat hari raya & maaf zahir batin :)

Palin v Biden tonight in the first Vice-Presidential Debate. Rejection of the 700b billion bailout plan is only the hottest topic around, the issue will probably take up a large portion of the debate. More on it here. Should the American government now find alternatives to fix the now ailing Wall St or keep pushing for the bailout that sees taxpayers paying for illiquid mortgage-backed assets?

Here's a link to a video overview of the issue. (click.) 10 mins or so worth, and biased against Obama which does not reflect my personal opinion whatsoever, but a good insight anyway into the cause of the problem.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi discusses the bailout before the voting which was speculated to contribute to the overall rejection of the plan by the House of Representatives. She makes some good points.

ps. CD Payne's Revolting Youth reaches expectation :)
