amidst the music

What a messy week. Extreme lows and improbable highs. And there never seemed to be a middle ground.

Part One;
I watched Knocked Up the other day and ended up feeling disappointed. I think writers and actors are one and the same, they can't be separated, especially with comedy. Comedy is too specific, writers write what they've envisioned in their head to be funny, they know exactly how to carry it to make it work and nine times out of ten they won't find another actor who'd be able to deliver on those lines exactly as intended. I mean proper comedy, not some fucking Billy Madison movie. Thus, the writer must always be the actor, and vice versa, atleast in comedy, or only in comedy. Or, if you're smart enough, you could write something so funny that it wouldn't matter who the actor was, it'll still be good. Good Luck with that. Knocked Up-the screenplay was just ok, nothing felt too Hollywood or too trite and contrived, basically very life-like, but it could have been better. It had the kind of jokes that looks good on paper but falls short upon execution. I think I expected too much from it and it ended up looking very hollow and empty for me. Heigl and Rogen's relationship was unconvincing-they looked more like casual friends than anything else. I know I'm probably the only one not going crazy over the movie and its probably because I didn't watch it properly. I'm missing something.

Part Deux;
I love them like crazy, its called crazylove, and I'd gladly give them my last peanut butter and jelly donut (doughnut?) anytime of the day.
Thanks, and thanks again for Saturday. I had no clue before I walked in, despite the balloons and the loud Irish music. I wish there was a better phrase, 'thank you' never seems enough and if I could sound more appreciative I would. For now, thank you.
